Campin' in the desert

The boys have hit their goal of 19-20 mile days, they camped in the Anza Borrego desert last night.  They've logged about 80 miles so far.

Andy said they stopped for a few hours, around 2-3ish to get out of the sun and heat.  This hot spring is going to be tough on them.   He said they run into several of the same PCT hikers on the trail and in camps.  I imagine that having so many others on the trail lends to a feeling of community and a shared feeling of dirty exhaustion and that there are others out there just as crazy.
